Fantasy Football Week 11 Waiver Wire: Replacing Alshon Jeffery

Week 11 Rankings: Standard | PPR

The Waiver Wire isn’t going to be exciting this week since most of the prominent players to add are already owned, but Fantasy owners will be looking to replace at least one starter in Alshon Jeffery . The Bears receiver was suspended Monday for the next four games for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs

Along with Jeffery, we also have several injuries to monitor, including Rob Gronkowski (chest), Jordan Howard (lower leg) and Larry Fitzgerald (knee). And there are four teams on a bye, so you won’t have several starters from Atlanta, San Diego, Denver and the Jets.

We have plenty of replacement options to discuss below, but you’ll want to check if these players are available first, although most are already owned in 12-team leagues and larger. We’re talking about Martellus Bennett (82 percent ownership on CBS Sports), Jamison Crowder (76 percent), Steve Smith (76 percent), Dion Lewis (75 percent), Cameron Brate (74 percent), Thomas Rawls (72 percent), James Starks (68 percent) and Kenny Britt (68 percent).

You’ll want to add these players before any of the others listed below, and I’m excited to see what Rawls and Lewis can do once they are finally active, especially after Starks just had a solid return to action in Week 10 as the lead running back in Green Bay. Crowder, Smith and Britt are potential must-start receivers in the majority of leagues, and Bennett would be an easy No. 1 tight end if Gronkowski is out. I don’t love Brate this week at Kansas City, but he’s emerging as a starting tight end in all leagues.

C.J. Prosise (60 percent) is another player to prioritize this week, especially if Rawls remains out. And the top guys to replace Jeffery for this week include Rishard Matthews (47 percent), Tyreek Hill (24 percent) and Eli Rogers (23 percent), as well as the new No. 1 receiver in Chicago, Cameron Meredith (26 percent). Eric Ebron (55 percent) should also be added in all leagues, and Ladarius Green (19 percent) is worth stashing as well.

Also, at running back, you’ll see a lot of handcuff options listed here. If you have an open roster spot, whether you have the starter or not, speculate on some handcuffs that could become lottery tickets, especially for teams that lean on their running backs a lot (Dallas, Miami and Pittsburgh).

Names of note on bye: Matt Ryan , Philip Rivers and Trevor Siemian
